The bathtub and The Winter in Nagano, Japan

What is the relationship?, mmm, How to say? Is just matter of temperature between sleep comfortable or die frozen. As my regular readers know I live in the Japanese Alps at Nagano prefecture so sometimes get's really cold like a couple of days ago the temperature was -14 C. That day my wife and daughter expended at in my laws house and took bath there. So, when I back after job I tough it was a waste of kerosene to warm up the bathtub just for me and decided just to take a shower. 30 minutes later I was freezing and blaming myself. When I started to take the shower I got warm after 10 minutes and after finish I just run to the kitchen, naked, for put on my clothes in front of the heater as was amazing cold in the bathroom.

I love the Japanese tradition of take the bathtub everyday or the public baths, is so relaxing that after a hard day at work or study, take a warm bath for release the stress and calm down. Also in winter time, at least here in Nagano prefecture is almost like "must do", in that way you body is amazing warm before go to sleep so you can go to sleep very comfortable without freeze inside of your bed or futon.

Taking a bath in Japan is not like the wester style with soap. Here you just warm up, so before to get in the bathtub you have to wash yourself and at the end you get in the bathtub for relax and warm up, more than one time I fall sleep as is so relaxing. If you come to Japan and you have High/Low blood pressure be careful as the hot bathtub accelerate your blood pressure so if you are not used, you can get dizzy or get a really bad headache. You can take breaks, or limit the time you do until your body get use.
