Lucha Libre in Tokyo
Lucha libre(Spanish: Free wrestling) is a term used in Mexico, and other Spanish-speaking countries, for a form of professional wrestling that has developed within those countries. Although the term nowadays refers exclusively to professional wrestling, it was originally used in the same style as the English term "freestyle wrestling", referring to an amateur wrestling style without the restrictions of Greco-Roman wrestling.
I haven´t been at Lucha Libre since I was kid when my grand mum took me to the world famous "Arena Coliseo" at Mexico city downtown, at that time also was a quite bizarre experience but I really enjoyed.
We saw 4 matches, basically one foreigner team ( Mexicans, Canadians and Americans) versus a Japanese team. All of them where girls, what made the experience more bizarre, I have never seen before a girl fight in such way, hahahaha. Definitely not the kind of girl, you want to have a fight, I'm pretty sure they can kill me with one finger.
Sorry for the blur but I just dodged one of the girls that landed aside of me, but you get the message.
At the beginning I was really wondering if she was a girl
The Japanese duo gave a hard time to the Mexican couple but at the end the 2 Mexican teams won their battles, we were so excited and screaming all over the place. Something funny and bizarre about the Lucha Libre in Japan is that the Japanese usually behave very calm in this kind of events where usually are so noisy but everybody was putting all their attention on the ring and supporting in their own way to their favourite teams.
