Matsumoto Film Festival

Today is the Matsumoto Film Festival and I will be helping with the organization and recording the event.

Matsumoto is quite famous for be a cultural city where you can find a lot of museums and galleries. Also is the birth place or permanent residence of some of the most famous Japanese artist. Like Yayoi Kusama, a surrealist artist that was part of the orginal surrealistic group with Andre Breton and Dalí.

Is a small festival for amateur film makers but starting to make noise. My work as editor will be show in two films. It was only one but the film crew was so happy with my work that they recommend me to another film crew.

Anyway I hope other film crews or directors see my work and get some gigs.

The film festival will take place at the city theater very close to Matsumoto station.

All Nagano media will be there with some personalities. I will be uploading photos as the event go.

Japanese bakery kids workshop

From time to time at the bakery we have some bakery workshops for kids. We call “After school program” where kids from different ages can come with their parents and have the experience of bake cookies and pizza at our ovens with a professional instructor.

I decided to take Sachan with me for our first workshop together. She was quite shy and nervous of being in a strange place with out mum but eventually she got relax and really enjoyed it. Sachan really likes cook not only as a game, most of her toys are cocking related, she always want to help for prepare dinner with Hiroe. I think is a little bit dangerous for a kid of her age so we are always are extra careful at the kitchen with her. Maybe I’m over protecting but I think is dangerous for her age as she can not see the danger at using extra hot things for example.

At the workshop the kids help to prepare the pastry we use for bake the cookies everybody was quite impress Sachan can do it very well for be a 3 years old kid. I helped her in all the process and we had a lot of fun, baking together. Also we prepare a Neapolitan Pizza, it was a little bit difficult to expand the pastry but at the end we did it. Actually one looks like a Indian Nam. After baked everything we had some time for eat and relax. During all the workshop I had to speak in Japanese but at then end with my boss we was talking in English, is funny to see how Sachan change her mood according to the language we are speaking.

I tough Sachan would be tired after bake all the morning but after back to Matsumoto station we had a break at Starbucks then we just have walk around the station. It was really nice weather that day, around 16c, pretty warm for be winter. So we enjoyed it a lot, be able to walk without so many layers of clothes in such nice warm weather.
